After initiating the Health Checks and then the Grant for Mental Health and Wellbeing and using the funds to purchase Fresh Fruit for all staff we spoke to Management and convinced them to continue with the fresh fruit program full time so now all staff have access to fresh fruit all week long.

Sigma is a leading full line wholesale and distribution business to pharmacy and the owner of Australian pharmacy retail brands Amcal Max, Amcal and Guardian. While working as a Team Leader at Sigma’s head office in Rowville, I fell and snapped my tibia and fibula in my right leg. I underwent surgery and after being housebound for three months, I couldn’t wait to get back to work. Getting back to work felt like I was getting my life back and played a big part in my recovery.

Yarrabah School caters for moderate to severely intellectually and multiply disabled students aged between 2.8 years and 18 years of age. Our staff are very conscious of looking after their health both physically and emotionally. Our amazing OH&S team lead by Sandra Dickson and Lauri Davis have introduced Pilates twice a week for staff, a back care seminar for all staff and healthy cooking demonstration for all staff. These sessions provide fun and physical strengthening for the staff. They also have the time to chat and debrief during these sessions.

Brookfield Multiplex is a leading global contractor- we build, engineer, maintain and operate property and infrastructure assets. The Brookfield Multiplex culture prioritises safety in everything we do. The overhead protection shield is engineered protection shield which cantilevers from the building. Brookfield Multiplex project staff in conjunction with Melbourne City Council and Yarra Tram’s designed an engineered solution that: • Allows construction loads to be safely lifted from the loading bay at all times. • Provides 24 hour access to the electrical tramlines for routine maintenance. • Was fabricated offsite, for an onsite installation by the site crane crew. • Eliminates contact with the tram line cables during construction. • Provides a safer working environment for the construction workers. • Provides a safer and more cost effective means of protecting the tramlines against any potential damage during the construction of the project • Hierarchy of control: Risk is isolated Overall risk and consequence is lowered: Risk Rating Low, Consequence: Low The cost to locate the tramlines underground was approximately $1.2 million. The cost to fabricate and install the protection shield was about $80,000.00.
