Our staff are very conscious of looking after their health both physically and emotionally. Our amazing OH&S team lead by Sandra Dickson and Lauri Davis have introduced Pilates twice a week for staff, a back care seminar for all staff and healthy cooking demonstration for all staff. These sessions provide fun and physical strengthening for the staff. They also have the time to chat and debrief during these sessions.

The Brookfield Multiplex culture prioritises safety in everything we do. The overhead protection shield is engineered protection shield which cantilevers from the building. Brookfield Multiplex project staff in conjunction with Melbourne City Council and Yarra Tram’s designed an engineered solution that: • Allows construction loads to be safely lifted from the loading bay at all times. • Provides 24 hour access to the electrical tramlines for routine maintenance. • Was fabricated offsite, for an onsite installation by the site crane crew. • Eliminates contact with the tram line cables during construction. • Provides a safer working environment for the construction workers. • Provides a safer and more cost effective means of protecting the tramlines against any potential damage during the construction of the project • Hierarchy of control: Risk is isolated Overall risk and consequence is lowered: Risk Rating Low, Consequence: Low The cost to locate the tramlines underground was approximately $1.2 million. The cost to fabricate and install the protection shield was about $80,000.00.
