Our success depends on our reputation for professional and reliable transportation services. At RYANS, customers are the cornerstone of our business. Our 175 strong team, based in Warrnambool, Melbourne, Horsham and Adelaide, proudly provides the following range of services both locally and interstate.
What was the issue/s at the workplace?
New employees have fears that they need to fit into the job that they have applied for. RYANS has accepted this as a risk factor which needs to be addressed and controlled to reduce the probability of injury occurring due to the new employee not being job settled.
What did you do to control it/resolve it?
Nearing the end of an induction the employee is asked what their three workplace fears are and RYANS is challenges itself into seeing what it has done or needs to do to elevate these fears. By RYANS addressing their new employee workplace fears helps show that RYANS cares about them and including improving the safety side of RYANS.
To any new employee this is a great relief off their shoulders to have a logistic company that wants its employees to feel and be safe is a WOW factor.
Who did you talk to about the issue/s or who helped you resolve it?
RYANS Managing Director asked all of its managers to find ways to readdress concerning issues and Fear Begone evolved from RYANS -Safety 1st. RYANS also needed more short snappy slogans that meant something to everyone for its four portable workplace signs (2000mm x 500mm) that are swapped around its three depots.
What was the outcome? How is the workplace better now?
New employees are relieved that RYANS cares for them right from the start. Managers are also impressed that that the new employee has thought about workplace safety concerns and how these are controlled even prior to the new employee has started working.
New employees are reassured that their fears are truly Begone
